Synocryl 9122x is the best protective barrier available as tested by numerous scientists. It is only necessary to coat the most recently exposed areas of bone (repeat applications on the same areas not necessary), and it can be removed with solvent. It is much more resistant to both temperature and acid than Paraloid B -72. Gaps can also be filled with Synocryl mixed with glass microballoons. However, it is still worth consolidating with Paraloid prior to application. You should wait until the Synocryl is absolutely dry before immersing the fossil in acid - this could take a few days. 

Dilute with MEK solvent, available in our online shop. Approximately 1 part MEK to 1 part Synocryl 9122x, but this will vary due to manufacturing.
