The Maia is fitted with a stylus locking mechanism, which means that when fitted with a chisel it will never rotate or spin when you’re working – not once, not ever. Easily switch between point and chisel.
This is also beneficial if you sharpen your own points, as it is not essential to grind dead on centre. Your stylus will remain absolutely stable and hit where you expect each and every time.

The Maia is extraordinarily versatile.
We offer a wide range of heads and styli for the Maia. From 1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm to 3mm, you can accomplish almost any task in the fossil preparation workshop. Just make sure that the head is matched to the stylus diameter. Each head and stylus are engraved with their diameter to save any confusion.
